As a result, cognitive maps about space have been changing and therefore the perception of experience has been transforming. In this essay, the film Total Recall (2012), having got the conventions of 1980s and 1990s cyberpunk genre and stands close to 2000s post-cyberpunk attitude, is analysed within the topics like artificial memory, virtual reality, fragmented self, and in the context of technology and experience relations considering also the new possibilities of liberation.
