Abstract:

In this study the queer subjectivities/ characteristics in terms of isolation were discussed. The aim is to study the video clip of Cem Adrian’s song Yalnızlık to make the problem clear. Queer isolation is a result of either the queer man’s desire to experience his queer life in a free way or disguise his queer feelings for the sake of being accepted by the society; because no living space is provided for the queer people who are called the others in a hetero-normative social order. After analyzing the song and its video clip it’s reached the conclusion that the video clip has been prepared by bearing in mind a deep history of sexuality and queer lives and also it is a criticism of the impediments to queer freedom. Queer studies propose that this kind of alienation/ isolation can only be eradicated by making an end to sexualization.
