Ageing is a process in human life experiencing the loss of physical and psychological abilities. Ageing is an important part of the life process and the rate of elderly in population increasing significantly in developed and developing countries. The population of the elderly is increasing gradually in our country. The increase in the elderly population in the world showing significant effects on health, social and economic institutions. Therefore, demographic and socio-economic trends should be examined in order to determine the size and the characteristics of the elderly population in the future. This case will play an important role for identifiying health, economic, social policies and the needs of the elderly. Nowadays the deterioration of family integrity by transforming of the extended family into immediate family, economic development, industrialization and urbanization by the migrations from rural areas to cities caused social changes associated with the ageing of the population. Rapidly increase in the elderly population in developed societies causes trouble in need of elderly. Physiological changes occur in ageing like body functions slow down and the activities is limited. Health care, economic and social policies should be determined the elderly people.As a result, not only the state also individuals should take the responsibility of sustaining lives worthy of human dignity for elderly people.
