This is a descriptive research aiming to explore the relationship between perception of fatherhood role, participation in family participation studies administered by preschool institutions and perception of fatherhood role with family participation studies of fathers of 5-6 years old children who are students of officially independent kindergarten affiliated with Ankara National Education Directorate in 2010-2011. 650 fathers out of 7807 were selected as sample. In this research, ?=0,01 level has been chosen. In the research, Personal Information Form, Fatherhood Role Perception Scale and Family Involvement Scale were used as data collection tools. As a result of research: Gender of child do not affect fatherhood role and family participation. Fathers with first child are high on fatherhood role perception and home based family participation. Fathers with one child are higher on fatherhood role perception and home based family participation than father with two or more children. As father’s age grows, so does his participation, too. As father’s status of education and economy improves, their fatherhood role perception and family participation improves, too. As the age of becoming a father for the first time increases, so does a family participation level. Fathers high on fatherhood role perception participates more family participation studies.
