Abstract:

For those who learn Turkish as a foreign language, writing in text production is considered a more challenging skill than speaking. The performance that the student shows in the writing event also affects his belief in the target language. From this point of view, it can be said that the perception and belief that the student develops against writing is quite important. Knowing the writing skills of Turkish as a foreign language will help to support their skills development. In providing expressed support, creative writing activities can be used in which the student can explain his feelings and thoughts as he wants. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of creative writing activities on the writing skills of foreign students. The data of the study was collected from students who learned Turkish in their own countries in accordance with the possibilities offered by the semi-experimental method based on the last test. The analysis of the data obtained as a result of the application process completed in ten weeks, including the pre-test and the final test phase, found that the relationship between students' creative writing skills and the perception of writing self-capacity was significant at a high level.
