In this study, it is aimed to evaluate 61-72 month old children’s democratic attitudes and behaviors according to mothers’ views. The population consists of mothers of 61-72 month old children attending preschool institutions that are located in central district of Afyonkarahisar and villages of it and affiliated to Ministry of National Education. 480 mothers in total, 240 of whose children attend to preschool institutions in central district and 240 of whose children attend to preschool institutions in villages of central district are included in the sample. “Democratic Attitudes and Behaviors Evaluation Form”, developed by Yaşar (1994), is used as data collection tool. After normality test, the findings of the study were analyzed via Mann Whitney U Test with 2 groups when analyzing between group differences and via Kruskal Wallis H Test with groups more than two. As a result of the study, it was identified that children attending to preschool institutions in city center have more democratic attitudes and behaviors than children attending to preschool institutions in villages of central district. Besides, compared to other children, those who are an only child and attend a kindergarten for at least two years displayed democratic attitudes and behaviors. Furthermore democratic attitudes and behaviors were observed to be displayed by those whose parents have higher level of education, and work as a civil servant and only whose mothers are self-employed.
