Abstract:

Colonization led to remarkable effects on world history is attributed to western culture. The European identity emerged through renaissance period has potentially caused the discovery of new lands with the induction of industrial revolution. In this period, the European countries which generally have war among each other targetted America continent and far east in order to develop and flourish. As the Ottomans weakened, Africa seemed a fertile and productive land for those European countries seeking for new colonies. Hence, a new struggle for allocating African resources has begun in various regions of Africa as in America, India, and Far east. Not only Portugal, Spain, Holland, Denmark, Belgium and Germany, bu also especially Great Britain and France as the representatives of the western culture conveyed the war they had in Europe to the Africa. This study aimed to explore the pespective, activities, and results of French colonization which had an important role to convey western civilization to Africa.
