The purpose of this study is that of determining the relationships between some variables, age, sex, educational status, duration and aim of the computer use, and level of self-compassion of the individuals which are using computers because of different reasons in their daily lives. The Participants of the study consist of 204 volunteer individuals, 88 females and 116 males, from different ages, educational status and professions. The self-compassion survey developed by Neff (2003b:223-250) and translated to Turkish by Akin, Akin and Abaci (2007:1-10) was used for collecting data in the study. All data of the study were analyzed by using percentagefrequency, t-test and MANOVA analysis methods. As the result of the study, although there wasn’t found any significant relationship between duration and aim of the computer use and the self-compassion levels, a significant relationship was found between sex and over-identification that one of the subfactors of the self-compassion survey. Furthermore, it was found that age of the participants positively related with some sub-factors, self-judgment, isolation and over-identification, of the self-compassion survey.
