Günümüzde, gerek tarihten gelen korkuların ve gerekse son yıllarda, gerekçesi ne olursa olsun, yaşanan terör olaylarının demokrasi ve insan haklarının beşiği olarak kabul edilen Batı dünyasında Müslümanlara karşı var olan ön yargıları iyice pekiştirdiğini ve gün yüzüne çıkardığını gözlemekteyiz. Bu ön yargıları besleyen önemli unsurlardan biri Müslümanların kendi dünya görüşü ve geleneksel yaşam tarzlarıyla Batı toplumlarının sosyal yapıları içinde kendilerine rol edinme çabalarıdır. Zira Müslümanlar artık Batı’da “konuk işçi” statüsünde olmayı reddetmekte ve kendilerini bulundukları ülkenin bireyleri olarak algılamaktadırlar. Bu ise onların toplum içindeki görünürlülüğünü artırmaktadır. Bu durum beraberinde Batı’nın, özellikle de Müslümanlar söz konusu olduğunda, alışık olmadığı yeni ve fakat zorunlu bir birlikte yaşama tecrübesinin ortaya çıkmasını da kaçınılmaz kılıyor. Biz bu makalede Avrupa Birliği’nin çeşitli kurulları marifetiyle İslamofobi ile ilgili hazırladığı raporların bir içerik analizini yaparak söz konusu raporlarda konuyla ilgili öne çıkan problemlere dikkat çekmeyi hedefliyoruz
Today, we observe that the fears from history and, if necessary, in recent years, whatever the cause, the terrorist events that have occurred have reinforced and revealed the prejudices against Muslims in the Western world, which is considered a threshold of democracy and human rights. One of the important elements that feed these prejudices is the efforts of Muslims to take their own worldview and traditional lifestyle into the social structures of Western societies. Because Muslims now refuse to be in the status of “host workers” in the West and perceive themselves as individuals of the country where they are. This increases their visibility in the community. This situation also makes it inevitable for the West, especially when it comes to Muslims, to experience a new but compulsory experience of living together that is not usual. In this article, we aim to draw attention to the top issues related to the issue by making a content analysis of the reports that the European Union has prepared on Islamophobia in the various councils of the European Union.
