Abstract:

The foreign policy of a state, no matter how original and independent it is, is directly inherent in relations with both neighboring states and other non- neighboring states. Therefore, foreign policy determines the nature of the intergovernmental relations of the period in which it is studied. No good analysis of the foreign policy of a state is possible without examining these periods. From the establishment of the Republic of Turkey to the present day, there have been many periods of turmoil. and II. World War, military coupes, economic disaster and many more can be counted. But the Turgut Özal period created a positive atmosphere from the point of view of Turkey. The foundation of this positive climate has seen objectives such as economic improvement, democratic development, well-being with neighbors and setting a new direction in foreign policy. In this context, the article has studied the political, economic and civilisation policies with the European states and the United States in the foreign policy of Turgut Özal period Turkey, mainly with the neighbouring states and the United States.
