The main aim of this paper is to present an observation tool that was used in teacher thinking The “repertory grid observation” tool was designed to see 7 ELT teachers’ theories in action The originality of the tool is that it can be used as an observational tool for varied purposes together with repertory grid tool In accordance with the teachers’ personal theories through repertory grid the repertory grid observation tool was improved so as to observe the teachers in classes and to be able to see their behavioural changes between the beginning and end of the study This tool also helped us see the consistency between teachers’ behavioural change and conceptual change Keywords: Repertory Grid teacher thinking observation tool constructivism conceptual behavioural change
