The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of group counselling based on Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy on helping anger management skills of eight grades A pre test and a post test after group counselling were administered to the students in experimental group Accordingly a re test was administered in order to monitor students 3 months after post test The sample consists of 18 students of whom 8 students were female and 10 students were male The sample was selected from a public school in Gaziantep The experimental group recieved a nine session 9 week group counselling but the control group did not recive anything The data was gathared using “The State Trait Anger Scale” The data was analysed via t test and variance analysis The results indicated that the subjects’ level of state anger decreased and the level of anger control increased This indicated that the group counselling method used in the present study was effective in gaining the skill of anger management Based on these results a number of recommandations are made Keywords: Anger Management Group Counselling Primary Education Rational Emotive Behavioral Threrapy
