: This study was carried out to identify how the level of the primary school teacher candidates’ science teaching self efficacy beliefs and attitudes towards science teaching changed in terms of some variables such as gender grades and teaching variety and to find the correlation between self efficacy beliefs and attitudes In this study which is bases on the correlative investigation model the Science Teaching Efficacy Belief Instrument STEBI B and Science Teaching Attitude Scale were applied to the primary school teacher candidates training at Education Faculty Primary Education Department in Afyon Kocatepe University and Mersin University in 2009 2010 academic year According to the findings of this study the primary school teacher candidates’ self efficacy does not differentiate in respect to gender and teaching variety Furthermore attitude towards science teaching made a statistically significant contribution to the variation in preservice elementary teachers’ personal science teaching efficacy beliefs and outcome expectancy Key words: Science teaching self efficacy beliefs Attitudes towards science teaching Teacher candidates
