Günümüzde ülkelerin ekonomik kalkınmaları, küresel ekonomide rekabet gücü elde edebilmeleri ve toplumsal gelişme sağlayabilmelerininönemli unsurlarından biri enerjidir. Enerji, özellikle elektrik enerjisi uzun yıllar boyunca Türkiye’nin önemli sorunlarından biri olmuştur ve bu gün Türkiye’nin içinde bulunduğu enerji sorununun gelecekte de devam edeceği tahmin edilmektedir. Bu araştırmada Türkiye’de enerji sektörü içerisinde termik santrallerin yeri incelenerek, politik, ekonomik ve çevresel faktörlerle ilişkilendirilmiş ayrıca Marmara bölgesindeki termik santrallerin enerji piyasası içerisindeki önemi ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çalışmada enerji sektörü içinde önemli bir yere sahip olan termik santraller incelenmiş olup Türkiye Enerji Piyasası Düzenleme Kurumu’ndan üretim lisansı almış ve Marmara bölgesinde faaliyette bulunan 32 adet termik santralden 20 tanesi ile anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında yapılan sektör analizinde SWOT analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan anket sonucu Marmara bölgesindeki termik santrallerin güçlü yanları ile daha çok ön plana çıktığı görülmektedir. Çalışmada Marmara bölgesindeki termik santrallerin ortalama günlük maliyet ve karları hesaplanmıştır. Türkiye’nin büyüyen bir pazar olması enerji sektörünün de gelişmesini sağlamaktadır. Sektördeki gelişme ile birlikte yeni termik santral yatırımlarının yapılması beklenmektedir. Termik santraller, Türkiye’nin enerjiye bağımlılık sorununu az da olsa azaltmakla birlikte çözmemektedir. Bu yüzden, temiz enerji kaynakları konusunda teşvik ve yatırımların arttırılması gerekmektedir.
Today, the economic development of countries is energy, one of the important elements in their ability to gain competitiveness in the global economy and to provide social development. Energy, especially electricity, has been one of the major problems of Turkey for many years and it is expected that the energy problem in Turkey today will continue in the future. In this study, the location of thermal power plants within the energy sector in Turkey has been studied, linked to political, economic and environmental factors, and the importance of thermal power plants in the region of Marmara in the energy market has been revealed. In this study, the thermal power plants that have an important place in the energy sector have been studied and the production license from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority has been obtained and the survey work has been done with 20 of the 32 thermal power plants operating in the Marmara region. In the field of industry analysis, SWOT analysis method was used. The survey results show that thermal power plants in the region of Marmara are more advanced with the strongest sides. The study calculated the average daily cost and profits of thermal power plants in the region of Marmara. Turkey is a growing market that ensures the development of the energy sector. With the development of the sector, new thermal power plants are expected to be invested. Thermal power plants do not solve the problem of Turkey’s energy dependency while reducing it a little. It is therefore necessary to encourage and increase investments in clean energy sources.
