So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

Concentration skills in childhood can be regarded as prerequisite for cognitive social and emotional development At this point concentration process and students ‘awareness in this process gain importance The present study aims to investigate primary school students’ views regarding the process of concentration Therefore 82 students enrolling sixth seventh and eighth grades were asked six open ended questions The qualitative data gathered from the question forms were analyzed using content analysis methods It was found that the participants pay attention to tidying the study place and maintaining silence there They stated that the most important factor distracting their attention is noise in the studying environment television computer friends etc Therefore they expressed that they tried to maintain silence in the environment It was also found that the students tried to control external stimulus However it is known that at this stage it is important for students to concentration through self instruction and self talk processes It can be suggested to develop and implement education programs to improve these skills Keywords: Attention Concentration Primary Education Education Psychology
