This work mainly examines the Turkish economy within the framework of Todaro 8217;s production difference hypothesis that is stated as the main reason of rural urban migration As urban investments and opportunities increase the real wages in urban the alternative cost of living in rural increases Rural urban migration not only increases the urban unemployment but also increases the urban economic and social problems This work examines rural migration in Turkey between 1988 2008 in accordance with the Migration and Efficiency Model that is developed Also this work estimates how wages 8211;the indicator of efficiency agricultural investments 8211;the main factor that increases efficiency and other variables affect migration This paper concludes that rural urban migration will go on because of the negative development of domestic trade rates adding to the limited effects of agriculture on employment and where exists very low increases in agricultural wages Keywords: Migration from Rural to Urban Agricultural Productivity Migration Model
