Abstract:

Democratization spreads all over the world after 1990s; hence developing representative institutions and realizing free elections have become a great necessity since then. Political campaign process is an important tool to observe the process of institutional alteration of democracy. Thus analysing the political campaign process in new democracies is very important to understand the  relationship between political campaigns and democracy. In addition, understanding the relationship with democracy of these countries is important for Turkey to foresee the possible problems of Turkish democracy. This study aims to find out the changing of political campaigns process in new democracies in Eastern Europe: Bulgaria,Hungary, Ukraine and Russia, Latin America:Chile, Uruguay, Argentina and East Asia (example of Taiwan). For that purpose this study is employing the multiple case study techniques. In conclusion, the development of elections and democracy have a great role in historical and cultural conditions of these countries itself.
