Although the dictionaries in the Manichaica and Uigurica series are in the first place presented as the existing Old Uyghur Dictionaries, Analytischer Index, which is a 59-page index including the words in the first five volumes of the Türkische Turfantexte published together by W. Bang and A. v. Gabain, can be considered as the first complete dictionary in the field. The work entitled Uygur Sözlüğü (Uyghur Dictionary) known as the first study on Uyghur Dictionary in Turkey was published in 1934 by Ahmet Caferoğlu and being extended in 1968 the dictionary was republished under the name Eski Uygur Türkçesi Sözlüğü (Old Uyghur Turkish Dictionary). The extended version of the dictionary includes around 7500 lexical data. The last volume of the dictionary entitled Uigurisches Wörterbuch. Sprachmaterial der vorislamischen türkischen Texte aus Zentralasien the first volume (a – agrıg) of which was published in 1977, the second volume (agrıglan- – anta) in 1979, the third volume (anta – asanke) in 1981, the fourth volume (asankelig – ayat-) in 1988, the fifth volume (ayatıl- – ämgäklig) in 1994 and the sixth volume (ämgäksin- – ärŋäk) in 1998 by Klaus Röhrborn, including verbs beginning with the letters a and ä was published as a whole in 2010. Röhrborn’s dictinoray has not been completed yet. In this study, the Berliner Turfantexte series and the index of the Old Uyghur studies which was published after the publication of Drevnetyurkskiy Slovar, which can be considered as the last completed Old Uyghur dictionary in 1969, will be analyzed and their role in and contribution to the preparation of a complete Old Uyghur dictionary will be evaluated
