Abstract:

Refik Halit Karay has an important place in Turkish story telling. Refik Halit Karay who changed the field of Turkish story by canalizing it to Anatolia, works on Anatolia with an original language by treating all aspects of Anatolia with a realistic manner. In the story ‘Yatik Emine’, written with the aim of raising awareness of the individuals and the society, Refik Halit Karay goes deep into customary, judiciary and moral source of the society and takes up a position about how it is supposed to be. Therefore, by wending his way to social problems taking its roots from individual problems, he carries fiction within the textual contextto reality. This reality is shaped by adoption or disregard of the all the values within the society and individual. Refik Halit Karay reflects the dilemma of the individual and the societywith the aim of reviving the disregarded values
