Bektashism is continuing its existence within the Turkish cultural life, it remains as a non-arbitrated phenomenon even today despite the fact that there has been numerous research done. This condition, undoubtedly, results from the info-pollution constituted by the production of (un)conscious discourses, biased understandings of the phenomenon by every researchers, and the inexpert pens on the topic. However, if the works of poets and authors of those who are thought as the representatives of Bektahism are primarily considered, it would be easy to shed more lights on the historical development and background of this belief system. This eventually provides an consistent way to understand whether this belief system is a heterodoxy or an orthodoxy, or whether it is necessary to use these Western conceptualizations at first place. It could be also argued whether this kind of orientation is required or not. This paper will present a sample example of this approach by dealing with the work of one of the late Bektashi poets, Sıdkî Baba’s Nasihat-name-i Sıdkî, expressing material and spiritual stages called as “dört kapı kırk makam” that a Bektashi dervish would go through
