Since the post Second World War era, management science has started to focus on the psycho-social dimension of workers, and motivation theories have emerged. Organizational culture has evolved as a relatively newer field of study but has been gaining greater importance with the effects of globalization and increasing competition. There are studies examining the relation between organizational culture and motivation in the organizational/industrial psychology literature. In the scope of this research, a survey form developed from the Denison Organization Culture questionnaire was conducted through the selected sample. 147 valid responses returned from the selected sample consisting of managers and white collar employees from maritime transportation companies. Alpha coefficient for measuring reliability, explanatory analysis for analyzing the profiles, factor analysis to figure the factor groups for organizational culture and motivation items, variance analysis and t-tests to examine the effects of demographic data on organizational culture and motivation; linear regression analysis to explore the organizational culture dimensions and their effects on motivation were implemented. A model explaining the motivation with organizational culture dimensions was offered by which involvement motivation, consistency motivation, adaptability motivation and mission motivation concepts were achieved.
