The purpose of the study is to determine the opinions of Science Teaching students about "how mathematical skills influence achievement in science" and about "mathematical knowledge "or "Mathematics course". The scanning model was employed in the study. The study group consists of 345 students enrolled in the Elementary Education Science Teaching program of a Faculty of Education located in a medium-sized city of the Eastern Anatolian Region. Data were collected using the Information Gathering Form (IGF) that consists of three open-ended questions and analyzed in a descriptive style. The results show that a great majority of Science Teaching students think that a student with high mathematical knowledge will also succeed in science and nearly half of all students would like to obtain mathematical knowledge as much as an elementary education mathematics teaching student does. These students believe that mathematics will be helpful throughout their lives and it will help them succeed in exams such as KPSS. In this respect, is offered mathematics courses in curricula without more than necessary details might be useful for students who want to learn mathematics. Key words: mathematics achievement, science achievement, interdisciplinary relationship, student opinions
