This research examined the units of Modern Physics included in the textbooks compatible with 2007 Secondary School Physics Curriculum in terms of four sub-problems. The research is based on screening model depending on qualitative research method. The data collection tools consist of the textbook examination reports based on the research prepared by the teacher candidates and also the proceedings representing the remarks of teacher candidates. Document analysis method was employed on the data collection tools. This research revealed that the units in High School Physics are prepared in accordance with the Physics Curriculum and these units do not have a major deficiency in terms of the principles of being student-centred and activity, and context-based. However, there are certain deficiencies in the assessment and evaluation practices. Post-unit questions do not lead students to search, observe or experiment.
