The data were obtained by using qualitative data collection tools (figure and metaphor). Content analysis method was used for data analysis. Drawings and metaphors were evaluated to identify the common perception of students towards GMO, and were discussed within ?Undergoing change?, ?Effect on human health?, and ?Having harmful effects while seeming beneficial? conceptual categories. It is assumed that students have negative views of GMOs. Moreover, it is observed that candidate teachers, too, had certain misconceptions of GMOs.
