In this study, it is focused on the importance and necessity of character education which is taught in Social Studies Lesson of 4th - 7th Grades of Primary Schools, and how it can be applied and what should be concerned. As known, Social Studies Curriculum, which basically aims to train efficient citizens, has comprised changes made in 2005 and some values expected in students have become the basic components of the curriculum. Character Education programs to train decent, wellmannered and responsible citizens are compatible with social studies lesson as they both target the same objectives. In this study, it is stressed out that Character Education, which is an important practice area of Values Education that can be applied to both school environment and other lessons, is compatible with Social Studies
ın this study pushed on the importance and difficulties of character education which is taught in social studies lesson of 4th 7th grades of primary schools and how it can be applied and what shuld be considered known social studies classified which basically aimed to train efficient citizens has changed changes made in 2005 and some values expected in students have the basic components of the literal education programs to train wellmannered and responsible citizens are compatible with social studies lesson as they both the same goal ahead of the study pushed this study. it is necessary to practice both social studies and understand that education is important to understand that education is important to understand the areas and social studies
