The aim of the present study is to examine the effect of Slow Motion Animation technique, which is the new learning and teaching approach, upon the teaching process of Photoelectric Effect. Thus, the study has been performed with the help of 5 volunteer pre-service students being at the third gradeand studying science at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University in the academic year of 2014-2015.Case study was used in the current study. As a data collection tool, Student Feedback Form was developed and students’ views on new approaches to teaching and learning were asked. Data analysis was interpreted through making qualitative content analysis. As a result of the study, it is emphasized that this new teaching and learning approach for students is effective on teaching abstract issues which are particularly difficult to understand
