2013 yılı fen bilimleri öğretim programında yaşam becerileri arasında “girişimcilik” kavramına doğrudan yer verilmiştir. Devamında 2017 yılında yayınlanan taslak fen bilimleri öğretim programında da “girişimcilik” kavramı ve bu kavramla bağlantılı olan “inovasyon” ve “mühendislik uygulamaları” gibi kavramlara da yer verilmesinin planlanması dikkat çekmektedir. Bu durum girişimcilik kavramı ve bu kavramın kapsadığı özelliklere olan ilginin arttığını göstermektedir. Dolayısıyla geleceğin öğretmenleri olan öğretmen adaylarının bu özelliklere ne ölçüde sahip olduklarını düşündükleri merak konusudur. Bu araştırmanın amacı fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının girişimci özelliklerini kendi değerlendirmeleri ile belirlemektir. Bu doğrultuda araştırma nitel bir çalışma olarak tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmada veriler araştırmacı ve uzman görüşlerine dayalı olarak geliştirilen “Girişimci Özellik Değerlendirme Formu” kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda araştırmaya katılan fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının büyük bir çoğunluğu kendilerinde sorumluluk alma, yenilikçi olma, bağımsız hareket edebilme, etkili iletişim kurma, kendine güven, takım çalışması, yaratıcı olma, başarı ihtiyacı gibi özelliklerin bulunduğunu belirtmiştir. Diğer taraftan risk alma, belirsizliğe karşı toleranslı olma ve liderlik özellikleri açısından ise fen bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının büyük bir çoğunluğu bu özelliklere sahip olmadıklarını dile getirmiştir.
In the 2013 science curriculum, the concept of "entrepreneurship" was directly included among the life skills. The draft science curriculum, published in 2017, also points to the planning to include the concept of "entrepreneurship" and the concepts related to this concept such as "innovation" and "engineering practices". This situation shows that the concept of entrepreneurship and the interest in the characteristics that this concept covers increases. Therefore, the question is how much teachers candidates who are the teachers of the future think they have these qualities. The purpose of this research is to determine the entrepreneurial characteristics of the science teachers candidates by their own assessments. In this regard, the research is designed as a quality study. In the research, the data was obtained using the "Entrepreneurial Character Assessment Form" developed on the basis of researchers and expert opinions. The study found that the vast majority of teachers candidates who participated in the research found that they have characteristics such as responsibility, being innovative, being able to move independently, effectively communicate, self-confidence, teamwork, being creative, need for success. On the other hand, in terms of risk taking, being tolerant to uncertainty and leadership characteristics, the vast majority of science teachers candidates have stated that they do not have these characteristics.
