Sera Lake is located within the boudaries of Yıldızlı Street connected to Trabzon, Akçaabat, it was formed as a result of landslide occuring in 1950. Water level of the lake which was 4 km long at first decreased as the outlet of lake deepened as a result the area has shrinked as well. As of 2014, its length is 1,2 km, the widest section is 250 m, the deepest location is 20 m and altitude above sea level is 125 m The lake is fed by the water brought by Sera River. The water of lake which is 10 km to Trabzon, 8 km to Akçaabat, 2,5 km to coast is sweet. Specific species of fish such as carp, barbel, flounder and specific living beings such as srawfish (fresh water lobster), turtle, duck live in the lake. This field which is surrounded with nut gardens was declared as Natural Park due to its vegetation and wetland area and was put under protection. In the study, it was mentioned how tourism can be improved by considering protection-usage balance in Sera Lake which is one of hydrographic resources that would be alternative to touristics attraction of Trabzon after Uzungöl.
