INCOMES OF NATIONAL FORCESThe Ottoman Empire, having thought that it ceased the First World War with Mondros Armistice, came up against the occupation of İzmir after nearly seven months. The application process of the articles of the armistice developed unexpectedly for the Ottoman Empire. The occupation of İzmir accelerated the idea of struggle, the foundations of which had already been laid. The inability of the Ottoman armies for war proved the necessity of following a path based on the people. Thus, “The Movement of National Forces” emerged and continued for the first one and a half year of the National Struggle. In order to resume the national struggle until the regular army was founded, financial resources and armament were required. However, the economic condition of the state which had been fighting for approximately eight years since 1911 was desperately bad. Its resources were exhausted, the section of the people able to produce had died in wars and the fertile regions had been occupied. In addition to this economic deprivation, the hostile manner of Istanbul government against the National Struggle and the poor mood of the society influenced the movement negatively.
