Abstract:

One of the most important variables of population is immigration. Studies on migration in Turkey have focused on the places where immigrant have migrated, the number of immigrant and reasons for migrating. Apart from these subjects, there have been important studies about measurement of immigration in recent years. As it is known, national and international immigrations have effect on population exchange apart from vital variables such as birth and death. One of the most important parameters in change of population structure of settlements in Turkey is internal immigration. In this sense it is quite important to put forward the effect of internal immigrations on population exchange. For this aim various immigration measurement methods were developed and the most common one among them is net immigration and rate of net immigration. In this study, migration effectiveness and population turnover and population churn measurement methods were used apart from these methods and internal immigration movements on basis of city was analyzed. In this scope, interregional internal immigration data of 2014-2015 of TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute) and NVİ (General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs) and General Directorate of Immigration Authority were used and interregional migration effectiveness and population turnover and population churn values were determined and evaluations were made accordingly.
