In this study, trends in the annual and monthly time series of eleven climatic parameters belong to 1961-2014 period of Ardahan meteorology station (1827 m) where represents one of the lowest urbanization in Turkey were investigated. Mann-Kendall method was used for trend analysis and decadal averages (1965-1974 and 2005-2014) were compared for determining to changes. Especially, positive trends are statistically significant in January, March, June, August, September, October and also in mean annual temperatures. According to decadal averages (1965-1974 and 2005-2014), the highest increase was observed in mean minimum temperature series (2.04oC). Annual average temperature has increased by 1.3 oC. Similar to temperature series, positive trends are dominant in precipitation series as well (maximum precipitation, total precipitation and number of rainy day), but only few of them exhibit statistically significant increases. However, annual total precipitation has statistically significant increasing trend and total precipitation amount was increased by 149 mm according to decadal averages. This amount is corresponding to 29% increasing in precipitation. This situation can cause to an increase in the number and strength of floods at Ardahan Plain. In contrast to increasing trends in temperature and precipitation series, negative trends were observed in all series belong to average cloudiness, humidity and wind speeds and this negative tendency are mostly statistically significant. According to decadal averages, annual average humidity showed 2.5% decrease.
