Arap Baharı olarak adlandırılan halk hareketleri, Tunus, Mısır, Libya, Fas, Suriye ve Yemen başta olmak üzere, az ya da çok, tüm Arap ülkelerini etkilemiştir. Tunus, Mısır ve Libya’da otoriter rejimler son bulmuş; Ürdün, Kuveyt ve Yemen’de hükümetler yenilenmiş; Suriye ise kanlı bir iç savaşa sürüklenmiştir. Tunus, Arap Baharı’ndan etkilenen ülkeler arasında demokratik dönüşümünü başarıyla gerçekleştirmiş ve bu başarısını yeni bir anayasayla taçlandırmış yegâne ülkedir.
