Özet:

The aim of this study is assessment of the novel which is could be used in the teaching of Turkish maritime history. For this purpose literature research has been made and novels which belong to Turkish maritime have been identified. The investigation method is based on document analysis. The novels which could be used in Turkish maritime history are evaluated by examining the content analysis. Maritime-related novels of  heroism, patriotism, love, longing, a feeling of vengeance are given intensive. Some novels, historical novels that move from reality completely away from historical reality are shrouded in an air of a fairy tale. Time of the eventsare16th and 17thcenturies and place of events is Mediterranean Region. Protagonists of the novels of Barbarous Hayrettin Pasha, Turgut Reis Oruç Reis ,Kemal Reis, Piri Reis and Muslihittin Kurtoğlu Reis. Mainly in the field of maritime novelists are Abdullah Ziya Kozanoğlu, Cevat Şakirkabaağaç, ZiyaHanhan, Feridun Fazıl Tülbentçi. When we look at the novels examined, hostile heroes are Anrea Doria, II.Philiph and Knights of Malta. The Western world has been portrayed in a way that is untrustworthy and manipulative. Considering the study of the novels written during the rise of the Ottoman Empire is concentrated. The victory of this case to be transferred to future generations can be interpreted as desired. Marine-related novels can be used in secondary and higher education. Secondary education is focused on the promotion period of the Ottoman Empire. In higher education, these novels could be utilized where the Ottoman-Turkish maritime history courses in Spain-Portugal relations with the Ottoman Empire.
