The main aim of this paper is to investigate the democratic life conditions in the families of the students who were elected as the student representatives in the schools of Kecioren town in Ankara. The research population consists of all educational institutions in town. The total number of the schools is 127. However, 105 of them were involved in the project due to having the student representative system. A questionnaire was administered to collect the data needed. The data collection instrument consisted of the questions concerning the demographic variable, the family structure, decision making process in the family, the participation of the students into the decision making process, and the evaluation of both family members and peers to the student representative post in schools.
