Abstract In islamic law, Mut'a is a certain amount of Money, property or interest given to a women divorced by her husband without any reason arising from her will. In this respect, Mut'a has the same basic features as divorce compensation in modern law. Although Mut'a is accepted by all schools of Islamic jurisprudence, at least in principle, it has become subject to different views and evaluations. Just as there were Islamic scholars who vie weal all the aspects of Mut'a as Vacip (compulsory to be implemented) and Müstehap (better if implement), so were there those who regarded some parts of Mut'a as Vacip and Müstehap. The Qur'an views Mut'a as a right over Muttaki, who are ideal musulman, and rewards those paying for Mut'a. Key Words: Mut'a, Divorce Compensation, Mehir.
