The purpose of this study was to understand preschool teachers' perspective on young children’s’ thinking skills and teachers’ role in improving them. This research was a qualitative research and the interview form, consisting of open ended questions developed by the researchers, was used to collect the data. Participants of the study were 35 preschool teachers. One of the result suggested that the teachers think that thinking skills are important and can be developed in preschool education. Another finding of research pointed out that participant teachers agreed on the idea of teachers being a guide, model to their students in the classroom in order to improve children’s thinking skills. Overall, teachers suggest that learning activities, social interactions and physical environment of the classroom are important factors in development of childrens’ thinking skills.
