Abstract In recent days violence has become a subject that occupied us with all aspects of fulfilling our responsibilities in terms of both the media and the public. Generally in society violence was perceived as a minor problem in recent years but the changing face of violence, now both parents, educators also big part of community worry about this. In this study violence in primary schools is investigated. The purpose of this research is to present the primary school teachers' views of violence in schools. For this purpose, in the research, qualitative research methods were used and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 teachers who work in the city center Eskişehir primary schools. According to the result of the research, teachers defined violence as physical violence, verbal violence and psychological violence. Unlike the violence definitions' of teachers, they indicated school violence such as damage to possessions of the school and expressed opinions about institutional violence. They express types of violent behavior at school as fighting, threatening and swearing and violence is seen more often in the 7th stated students between students in classes. Also teachers often consider the causes of the violence in schools due to reasons coming from the family. Key Words: Violence, school violence, primary school.
