Abstract Born in the 1980's and later, Generation Y has started and will continue to deeply influence the business life, as %32 of the work force and % 20 of the management level professionals consist of Generation Y members by 2011 in Turkey. With respect to this influence, several studies have been done for identification of the characteristics of Generation Y and adaptation of business life to these characteristics. Especially, studies originating from the United States and Europe have identified the key characteristics of Generation Y. This study was done for the purpose of studying whether these characteristics attributed to Generation Y apply to the Generation Y in Turkey and explaining the main differences.
