Abstract:

The aim of this study is to adapt the New Teacher Possible Selves Questionnaire that was developed by Hamman et al. (2013) into Turkish and to assess the reliability and validity of the scale. In this context, the scale was translated into Turkish by a group of specialists and a study was conducted in order to provide the linguistic equivalence between the original form and translated form. After that, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted in order to test the construct validity. Data from 326 final year student teachers were used in the analysis. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis suggested that the model can be considered a good fit. Furthermore, the internal consistency reliability of scale factors was assessed. In conclusion, it can be said that the adapted version of New Teacher Possible Selves Questionnaire is a valid and reliable measure that can be used on student teachers in Turkey
