The main aim of this study is to analyze the effect of epistemological beliefs of high school students on the academic achievements at chemistry courses. The work group of this study consists of exact 110 students studying at 10th class of Esentepe Anatolian High School in Adıyaman in the 2014-2015 academic year. “Acids and Bases Unit Academic Achievement Test" developed by Acar (2008) and "General Epistemological Beliefs Scale" adapted to Turkish by Kaymak (2010) are used with the purpose of data collecting tools in the study.The data is analyzed with Independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation test, ANCOVA test, Frequency, Percentage, Arithmetic mean and Standard deviation.In the study,it has been achieved the results that high school students have epistemological belief at every level,There is significant difference between epistemological beliefs and gender in one sub-factor, There is not a significant difference in other sub-factors, Epistemological beliefs of students have not any effects on their academic achievements and their epistemological beliefs are at an underdeveloped level. To the results of the study,proposals are presented
