Poverty can be defined as being unable to realize oneself or to reach intended standards of life. Although materiality is in the foreground in the definition of the concept poverty, it may show differences depending on time and place. As in all regions, poverty is not an unfavourable situation not only involving man but also women. However, women in rural areas are the most affected ones due to the roles attributed to women in the society. Inadequate education opportunities and negative attitudes towards education of rural families may be one of the primary reasons affecting poverty. As a result, participation in workforce or self-realization of rural women is either taking long times or not possible to realize. It is seen that rural women who are not able to take advantage of education are not hired. This situation is still a problem in all over the world as well as in our country. Benefitting from individual’s abilities and being productive individuals underlying the development and improvement have created the perspective of 21st century human being. In this study, 16 articles related to rural poverty, education, workforce participation, and employment of rural women between the years 2010-2016 has been investigated and evaluated. Relations with inverse proportion between education and poverty of rural women and direct proportion between education and employment has been seen with the use of screening model in this study.
