Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the impact of the social skills education program described through the co-workers on the levels of aggression of high school students (6, 7 and 8 classes). Research pre-test - the last test is organized according to a single-group semi-experimental study model. The research work group consists of second-level students of a primary school in Kahramanmaraş province center. 28 girls and 28 boys participated in the study. In addition, 11 students from the 8th class were selected as volunteers and co-assistants from the school. To determine the levels of aggressiveness of students, Tuzgöl (1998) developed the "Attack Scale" was used. However, the Personal Information Form developed by the researcher was used to reach some demographic characteristics of the students participating in the study. 11 students selected as a co-guide were given a social skills training of 8 weeks. Afterwards, 11 co-guides were divided into groups and discussed the social skills training program to 56 students. After the study, 56 students received the final test. In the analysis of the data obtained, SPSS 15 program was used. Given the statistical results of the application, the social skills training program provided through colleagues has been shown to be effective in reducing students’ levels of aggression. While the gender of students is seen as an important factor in determining the levels of aggressiveness of students, the conclusion has been made that the students’ aggressiveness scores don’t differ according to the class level of students. These results are discussed in the light of the area.
