The aim of this study is to determine the perceptions of post-graduate students in Arabic Language Education about Standart Arabic and Arabic dialects by methapors. The study group consists of 27 masters and doctoral students. The metaphor form was created to determine the perceptions of participants regarding “Standart Arabic” and “Arabic dialects”. The research data were obtained by preservice participants' completing the sentence “Standart Arabic is like …; because…” and “Arabic dialects is like … ; because…”. The study was conducted through phenomenology design which was found among qualitative research approach. The data were analyzed by using content analysis. At the end of the analysis, it was observed that participants used 27 metaphors about standart Arabic. These metaphors were classified under 4 categories and it was observed that participants used 27 metaphors about Arabic dialects. These metaphors were classified under 3 categories.
