Abstract:

The preparation and signing process of Sevres Peace Treaty didn’t actualize as easy as it was imagined. The project which was organized in the direction of arbiter states’ own profits, fairly took the form of a new map. On the same day, when Sevres Peace Treaty was signed, six different treaties were signed and this Sevres process effected not only Turkey but also Italy and Greece. The fate of Dodecanese, Thrace, Izmir, minorities, many places and concepts were constructed again on August 10th, 1920. In this construction, one of the important figures was Eleftherios Venizelos. Venizelos spent remarkable amount of time on the preparation of Sevres Peace Treaty for the sake of Greece which was persistently attacking to make the government of Ankara to accept it. Two days after signing Sevres Treaty, the assassination attempt towards Venizelos in Lion Railway Station in Paris reminded again the existence of opposite groups in Greece against Venizelos. In this research, the claims, attitudes and diplomacy of Venizelos, the aspect of Greece, seven different treaties that signed in Sevres and assassination attempt towards Venizelos are going to be analyzed through Greek periodicals, archives and secondary sources.
