Abstract:

Poland is adopting a model of health education, under the name of 'Education for Family Life', which provides for avoiding sexuality. The aim of this study is to determine whether the opinions of mothers in adolescence can contribute to the development of this model. The study was conducted using focus group conversations with 14 adolescent mothers between the ages of 14 and 18; the discussion was conducted within the framework of these features, focusing on the characteristics of effective adolescent pregnancy prevention programs. The reproductive health education model in Poland is carried out in a comfortable environment where visual media is also widely used. Teaching can be defined as one-way information transfer, where the opportunity to ask questions is very little. There is little or no discussion about birth control. Rarely discussions are far from containing a consistent message and end with the transmission of the manner of behavior that the teacher considers appropriate. It is highlighted that there is no commitment in romantic relationships between adolescents. This is why the reproductive health education courses given cannot have an educational impact on family life. The Polish model should take into account the needs of adolescents who are sexually active or are expected to be active soon, the consistency of the message given should be strongly emphasized and the quality of education given by this model should be taken into account, taking into account appropriate pedagogical skills.
