Abstract:

This study aims to identify the professional problems that teachers experience and to measure the importance of the problem areas that represent these problems by means of the bilateral comparison method. The work was carried out in the screening model. Examples of the research in Turkey in 2015-2016 education and teaching year to the Ministry of National Education (M.E.B.) There are 484 teachers working in the state schools. The "Professional Problems Form of Teaching" was developed by researchers as a data collection tool. In the analysis of the data, Thurstone's Comparative Judgments Act III. The method of measurement is used. According to the findings obtained in the research, the professional problems of teachers, the problems of teachers’ training and the character of teachers, the rights of property and economic problems, the decrease in professional respect, M.E.B. The issues related to their policies, the issues related to the trade union activities, the excess workload, the administrative problems in the school, the physical conditions and the insufficiency of the sub-structure, the problems related to the guardian, and the problems related to the student have been gathered under themes. The problem with the teachers is M.E.B. It is seen as a education policy. This was followed by a decrease in professional reputation, physical conditions and underground insufficiency, problems with the student, property rights and economic problems, administrative problems in the school, teacher training and teacher quality, problems with the guardian, excess workload, problems with trade union activities. When teachers’ professional problem areas are studied according to the age variable, 0-10-year-old teachers see professional reputation as a problem area, while 11-45-year-old teachers have seen MEB policies as a problem area.
