Bu araştırmanın amacı, bireyleri duaya iten güdüleri ve duanın bireyler üzerindeki etkilerini gösteren bir ölçme aracı geliştirmektir. Ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları 176'sı erkek, 239'u bayan ve yaş ortalaması 30 olan toplam 415 yetişkinin (genç yetişkin) katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ölçek geliştirme çalışmasında açımlayıcı faktör analizi kullanılmış, madde ayırt edicilikleri belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonunda toplam varyansın % 54.22'sini açıklayan 23 maddeden oluşan bir ölçek elde edilmiştir. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi ölçeğin; tefekkür ve rahatlama, istek ve şükür ile manevi hoşnutsuzluk olmak üzere adlandırılan 3 alt boyuttan oluştuğunu göstermiştir. Madde analizi sonucunda madde toplam korelasyonlarının .307 ile .736 arasında değiştiği görülmüştür. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi ile elde edilen yapının, model uyumu test etmek amacı ile yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda ölçeğin modellerinin istatistiksel olarak uygun olduğu belirlenmiştir. Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı, Sperman-Brown korelasyon katsayısı ve Guttman Split-Half değeri sırasıyla .917, .896, .896 olarak hesaplanmıştır.
The purpose of this research is to develop a measuring tool that shows the motivations that drive individuals to pray and the effects of prayer on individuals. The validity and reliability studies of the scale were carried out with the participation of a total of 415 adults (young adults) who were men, 239 women and the average age of 30. In the study of scale development, the distinctive factor analysis was used, the substance distinctiveness was determined. At the end of the study, a scale of 23 substances was obtained which described 54.22% of the total variance. The analytical factor analysis has shown that the scale consists of three subdimensions, called excitement and relaxation, desire and gratefulness and spiritual dissatisfaction. The material analysis found that the total correlations of the material varied between .307 and .736 . The verifying factor analysis of the structure obtained by the opening factor analysis has determined that the models of the scale are statistically appropriate. The Cronbach Alpha reliability ratio, the Sperman-Brown correlation ratio and the Guttman Split-Half value are calculated as .917, .896, .896 respectively.
