Abstract:

Kelile and Dimne translation of Kul Mesut contains many interesting samples, archaic words and structures of Turkish Language. Some samples which have been misinterpreted in previous studies or misread because of their similarity to another word, are covered in this article, and these samples are attempted to be explained by giving examples from Karahanli and Old Uighur texts among the works of the era. Especially the adverb kezden/bir kezden (completely, properly, fully, and toughly) which is derived by adding the inflectional suffix –dAn to keõ/kedh word, the use of the direction suffix –rA in idioms like gögsire kak-, yüzire ur- and the word oyan- (to bury, to entomb) which is mistaken with the verb uyan- etc. are interesting
