Headdresses are significant samples of ethnographic realms of nations. Besides their functional features during the long process from tradition to modernity, their cultural-artistic dimensions let headdresses classify as an important cultural factor. It is possible to observe this fact in many areas from oral and written traditions to ethnographic findings. This essay deals with kids’ headdresses used in the Demirkazık region of Turkmenistan. Main topics of this study are special names of those kinds of hats, materials used in producing them, special denominations in accordance with the used materials, when and for which reason is a certain kind of headdress is put on.
