Abstract enThe epic of Oğuz Khan is one of the most important epics in Turk culture and literature. It is worth to investigate in many respects because of the aspect of Oğuz Khan Epic. It is aimed to study Oğuz Khan Epic in the light of epic laws of Axel Olrik in this paper. Axel Olrik indicated that folk stories have shaped around the common principles and the epic laws can be accepted as a summary for the characteristics of common folk stories. Axel Olrik put these laws together as 15 objects and tried this law to establish on many folk stories. A kind of Oguz Khan Epic in the previous history of Islam was studies in this study. In the study, it can be seen that the universal standarts of Oguz Khan Epic that is one of the best examples of Turk verbal and written culture in the investigation of stories around the Anatolia or another region with the use of Olrik laws
